The doors to Hannover Exhibition Center have now closed to mark the end of IAA Transportation 2024. Closed but not forgotten. At least not by those attendees who found their way to Thermo King and entered the E-Zone.
As one of the largest stands erected for the event, the E-Zone was certainly an eye-catching place to visit, featuring large blue LED frames and constant video content. A concept that expanded on the award-winning showcase first presented at Solutrans last year – and evolved in line with our ever-expanding product portfolio.
Better still, it proved the ideal venue for presenting Thermo King’s range of eTRUs for any type of van, truck, or tractor drive technology. A platform for demonstrating new innovations, our on-going commitment to an all-electric future, and a number of new product launches.

Giving proof to our continuing innovation
IAA is of course one of the main calendar events for the transport and logistics sector, attracting a record number of around 145,000 visitors. Attendees and the press arrive each year expecting to hear from leading vendors about their latest products and strategic roadmaps.
That was “challenge accepted” as far as we were concerned. With the E-Zone, Thermo King had the perfect space for detailing how innovation underpins our pledge to lead the industry’s electrification and decarbonization efforts.
Most importantly, at this year’s event with new products on show, we were able to say that Thermo King has delivered. We made you a promise in 2021, and today, we turned this promise into proof. We offered an all-electric solution across every segment of the cold chain.
An ambition that was awarded threefold:
- Advancer—e Spectrum, powered by AxlePower, won the International Trailer Award in the category of Environment.
- A-500 Spectrum took up 2nd place in the Trailer Refrigeration category of Best Brand.
- ThermoKare 24/7 Fleet Monitoring snatched another gold medal in Best Brand, Transport Management Systems category.

Building the excitement: our big announcements
To reinforce our theme of turning promise into proof, Thermo King announced a host of new, all-electric product launches and upgrades throughout the show.
The key highlights to mention were:
- E-Series for Van & LCV: featuring the new E-100e and E-200e Spectrum units that bring single- and multi-temperature options to the all-electric last mile
- E-Series for Small Truck: the E-500e designed to provide ultra-reliable refrigeration for battery electric vehicles between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes
- E-Series for Large Truck: which unveiled the new E-1200e unit, which further extend our sustainability message with single- and multi-temperature options for future-proofing our customers’ fleets
- Advancer-e Spectrum units, compatible with AxlePower: giving trailer customers access to the most energy-efficient, zero-emissions eTRU on the market
- Energ-e Pack and e-COOLPAC: the very latest in sustainable battery power sources to keep refrigeration units running for longer

That’s a lot of new announcements! In addition, Thermo King also presented our vision for Max Your Cool as another key aspect of any sustainable business model. An important message that again highlighted Thermo King’s place in the ever-widening circular economy as a complete service and solutions partner.
All told, IAA delegates were provided with a comprehensive, end-to-end story for delivering the most cost-effective, high-performance, and zero-emission cold chain possible:
“Innovation has long been the catalyst for imagining a fully decarbonized cold chain. To date, technology has struggled to keep pace with the industry’s collective ambition, but as we’ve shown at IAA that’s no longer the case. Now, our customers can call on proven technology for any vehicle type at every stage of the cold chain. That was our commitment, and the latest product launches show what’s possible we’ve more than matched it."
