120 Years of Innovation at Commercial Vehicle Show 2018

80 + 40 = 120 Years of Innovation

Our theme at the Commercial Vehicle (CV) Show 2018 in the United Kingdom capitalized on both Thermo King’s 80th anniversary and Frigoblock’s 40th anniversary and our combined 120 years of innovation. It proved to be the perfect theme for the largest and most comprehensive road transport and commercial vehicle event held in Britain, which has earned a reputation for delivering seasoned expertise and the latest innovative technologies each year.

The Thermo King and Frigoblock team displayed plenty of both, sharing examples of how our product portfolios answer current and future demands in areas of sustainability, changing legislation, electrification and data connectivity. In addition, the team demonstrated how we are helping customers meet real-world operational challenges with driver retention as well as our continued focus on providing products and solutions that meet or exceed growing environmental and emissions demands.

“With experts from both Thermo King and Frigoblock on hand, and our combined 120 years of innovative creations, we had much to share and celebrate – past, present and future,” said Donal Cox, Thermo King UK, Ireland and Benelux Region director.

The Highlights

Held in Birmingham April 24-26, the Thermo King and Frigoblock booth featured the SLXi Hybrid unit with a unit in the stand as well as in an outside exhibition area where visitors could see the technology in action.

“This was definitely a highlight as the SLXi Hybrid is a true success of our Thermo King and Frigoblock technologies coming together to deliver a customer solution that will carry well into the future. And timing was great as the product, introduced as a concept in 2017, is now available for order,” said Donal.

Visitors to the stand also learned about recent upgrades and advancements to products such as the V-Series and B-Series truck units, which now offer telematics and good distribution practice qualification, as well as Frigoblock’s EK25, HMI Controller, Inverter, Alternator, and RE-22 Evaporator.

“We were pleased with the stand traffic throughout the CV Show and also the attendance at our customer event held at the booth,” said Steve Williams, Thermo King’s UK Area Sales manager. “The anniversary-themed party gave us a chance to celebrate our collective 120 years of innovation with customers and toast to the many more solutions our team is excited to develop and provide to the industry.”
