“Training is essential for every dealer. That’s why we host two types of training programs at Thermo King – one standard training for technicians and one called the ‘Train The Trainer’ program. In the latter, we organize one-on-one sessions for dealer personnel to become trainers in their own right. In turn, they transfer technical knowledge to their colleagues at their dealership.”
“Even now, during the outbreak of Covid-19, we are working on an online platform to share best practices”, explains Davide Fusciani, Training Manager at Thermo King.
“On this platform, we’ll show practical information like updating maintenance hours reminders on your A-Series controller – for example. Really practical and essential.”
In this infographic, Davide Fusciani shares 5 good reasons for hosting training.

“Get hands-on experience with new units. Especially necessary if you have a new unit like Advancer. That’s why we make sure to provide sufficient learning material in 6 languages (PowerPoints, courses) to get to know our units. It is not without reason that we have such a strong network of dealerships.”

“It makes sense that larger dealerships (like Marshall) have their own training facilities. However, not every dealership has more than 100 engineers and technicians; that’s why we host standardized training sessions. That’s how we make sure that smaller dealerships stay up-to-date as well.”
“For dealerships with a limited number of technicians, it’s often even more important to help their staff stay on top of things and get acquainted with new products as soon as possible. That’s what the regular training sessions are for. Even now, during the corona outbreak, we host virtual training sessions.”

“Get to know people outside your core team. During our pre-Covid training sessions in Brussels, dealers have to interact with people from other dealerships. This is an ideal moment to exchange best practices. So hopefully, we can restart them soon.”

“By offering training like “Train The Trainer”, your technicians and engineers are more satisfied, more invested in the company, and they learn job-specific skills. They are more likely to stay at your company – Marshall is a great example with some people staying for 30, 40 – even 50 years.”

“Engineers and technicians who visit our seminars and training sessions are the best technicians in the industry. What we’ve noticed throughout the years is that they are proud to visit our training programs in Brussels – and they are proud of Thermo King as a company.”
