Russia’s COMTRANS Attracts 15,000+ Visitors

Thermo King attended the International Commercial Vehicle Auto Show, COMTRANS, in early September and highlighted key products including the SLXi, T-800, V-800 and the Ce-450, all of which are catching attention in an improving Russian market.

COMTRANS and Thermo King

Held in Moscow, the biennial COMTRANS is a leading international exhibition of commercial vehicles in the CIS and the countries of Eastern Europe. COMTRANS 2017 attracted more than 200 participating companies from 18 countries and more than 15,000 visitors.

The 2017 show yielded many more exhibitors and visitors than in 2015,” said Dmitry Nazarov, Thermo King regional director, Russia & CIS. “We believe that the growth is indicative of postponed demand + positive market trends + a stable economic situation. The number of players in the market seems to be increasing – larger logistic companies are growing, retailers are buying self-powered (SP) units, the vehicle-powered (VP) segment is growing, and market share of local OEMs and vertical integration is trending upward. We are excited for additional opportunities to align with existing and new customers.

Thermo King Booth

A regular participant in COMTRANS, Thermo King welcomed key customers and business partners to its large 148 square meter stand, filling each day with meetings. On display were SLXi, T-800, V-800 and Ce-450 refrigeration units, the most relevant models for the Russian market. “In addition, the simulator with large LCD screen impressed booth visitors by demonstrating the telematics features of the new SLXi trailer platform,” explained Mikhail Vatnik, business development director for Thermo King Russia and CIS. Thermo King’s booth was staffed by the field team in Russia, representatives from Thermo King Russia and CIS dealer partners, as well as Transport Solutions EMEA’s Nicandro Buono, VP truck product manager, and Jedrzej Chojnacki, strategic accounts manager.
