With beautiful Morocco as the backdrop, more than 100 dealer and Thermo King Corporate leaders gathered for the 2018 EMEA Dealer Principal Meeting in late January. While discussions reviewed 2017 activities and accomplishments – highlighted by the Award’s Gala where the Dealers of the Year were recognized, the real focus was on “Right Here. Right Now.” More specifically, the theme was chosen to highlight the actions we need to do now that will get us closer to the product, service and channel excellence goals we have for the future.

Despite some market challenges, 2017 proved to be a successful year in terms of overall growth, product innovations, quality improvements and network improvements. “We certainly countered the down trailer market with gains in others including Self-Powered Truck, Vehicle-Powered Truck and Bus. And we’ve also set ourselves up for better trailer product growth by working together to effectively market the SLXi technology with Connected Solutions, as well as the new Hybrid unit that features a combination of Thermo King and Frigoblock technology,” said Pauli Johannesen, vice president and general manager, Truck, Trailer & Bus for Thermo King EMEA.

“All of that, coupled with progress on the quality front and our collaborative efforts – and dedication to delivering world-class service to customers, gave us much to celebrate in 2017. This issue is dedicated to the dealers who led the network in various categories. Congratulations to all!”

Ray Pittard, president of Thermo King took time to share our strategies and how they are aligned to meet the market trends and changes. “Key market challenges – digitalisation, aggressive competition, electrification, are all happening fast in EMEA,” said Ray. “But we have the tools, the people, the innovation and the dealer network that will allow us to be the disrupter. We will drive service and operational excellence, leverage best practices and standard work, and continue to deliver the sustainable products that meet customer and regulatory needs. By leading with innovation and quality, we will drive the triple-win and meet market changes.
