Defining the future of refrigerated transport – Thermo King and Frigoblock at IAA 2018

Thermo King and Frigoblock returned to the bi-annual IAA trade fair (Hannover, 20-27th September 2018) in style this year. Three stands, the latest product announcements, new solutions, services and innovations and towering above them all: our vision of Thermotopia.

This is a concept that caused a great stir at the event, offering a shared vision from Thermo King and Frigoblock on the future of refrigerated transport. It also offered a platform for showcasing innovation, and detailing how the technologies needed to realize a bright new tomorrow are already being made available to dealers and customers today.

Better still it provided the perfect link to the overall theme of IAA 2018: Driving Tomorrow – the future of mobility, transport, and logistics. Big news and big announcements

Judging by footfall alone, the Thermotopia ‘space’ was very popular, with visitors able to get their hands on technologies already laying the foundations for transport in ‘the city of tomorrow’ – alongside new products and services that included:

  • The E-200 full electric refrigeration unit
  • The self-powered T-560R refrigeration unit
  • Prisma S-4.2 low height dual discharge evaporator
  • Thermo King TracKing connectivity services
  • 24v Thermo King ThermoLite solar panels
  • Frigoblocks’ alternator-powered, 100% electric units

Not that it was all work and no play. On the evening of the 24th we also hosted a customer night and invited our entire dealer network along. Featuring a fully stocked bar and a DJ to get the party started. This proved to be a special networking event, and a great opportunity to meet old friends and new.

Not stopping there

So all in all, a very good IAA 2018 trade fair for Thermo King and Frigoblock to be involved in, based around our bold new vision of Thermotopia.

Not that the concept ended there, and instead it lives on as a marketing and sales platform for inspiring future conversations.

Within it you’ll find details of our booths, as well as the TTC Magazine that acted as our main storytelling device for exploring the key themes of Thermotopia (compliance, electrification, connectivity, and innovation).

Plus, you’ll see details of the virtual reality adventure we invited delegates to participate in (where they ‘joined’ ‘Bob’ the trucker as he attempted to deliver a load of ice cream to a busy city center school) and all the other marketing and social media assets you’d expect to find.
